Pear Crisp

1/2 c. walnut pieces
1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
Pinch salt
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 stick unsalted butter, cold
4 firm pears
1 Tb. sugar
2 tsps. flour
Vanilla ice cream, opt

Preheat oven to 350. Toast nuts in oven for 5 minutes or until lightly browned. Combine flour, sugar, salt & cinnamon & pulse to mix. Add butter & pulse just long enough to cut in butter
keep the mixture crumbly. By hand stir in nuts & set aside in a cool place. Peel, core & slice pears & toss with sugar & flour. Place pears in a 1 1/2 quart baking dish or casserole & cover evenly with the topping. Bake 45 minutes or until brown, bubbly & crisp & pears are tender. Serve warm with ice cream 303 cal, 14 g fat, 20 mg chol, 7 mg sod
