Butter Cookies

8 oz. carton sweet whipped butter
3 heaping Tbs. powdered sugar
1 egg yolk
4 c. sifted flour or as needed
1/2 c. pecans, chopped
Powdered sugar for dusting

Bring butter to room temperature in a large bowl. Add sugar & egg yolk. Using spatula, blend slowly & mix thoroughly. Add chopped pecans. Gradually add flour. Work with dough until firm but not hard, soft but not too soft. Form into desired shapes, crescent or round, & place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake in a 350 oven for 20 minutes or until golden. Sprinkle with sugar while warm.
