Creme de Menthe Brownies

For the brownies:
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups granulated sugar
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 cup (2 sticks) butter
1 cup water
1/4 cup cocoa
2/3 cup buttermilk
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Creme de menthe frosting
Chocolate glaze
For the frosting:
1/2 cup (1 stick) softened butter
2 cups sifted powdered sugar
2 or more tablespoons green creme de menthe
For the glaze:
1 cup chocolate chips
6 tablespoons butter

To make the brownies: Grease and flour a 9-by-13-inch pan
set aside. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine flour, sugar and soda in a large bowl
set aside. Combine butter, water and cocoa in a saucepan
bring to a boil. Pour mixture over dry ingredients, stirring until blended. Stir in buttermilk, eggs and vanilla extract. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely on a wire rack. Spread with frosting
refrigerate until frosting is firm. Top with chocolate glaze. Store in refrigerator. To make the frosting: Cream butter. Gradually add sugar
beat until light and fluffy. Stir in creme de menthe. To make the glaze: Melt chips and butter in double boiler or in pan over low heat, taking care not to burn chocolate. Pour over frosting layer
spread carefully with a spatula. Per serving: 155 calories (percent of calories from fat, 50), 1 gram protein, 19 grams carbohydrates, less than 1 gram fiber, 9 grams fat, 29 milligrams cholesterol, 134 milligrams sodium.
