1 c. sugar
1 c. butter
1 c. dark corn syrup
14 oz. can condensed milk
1 Tbs. vanilla

Bring sugar, butter & syrup to boil, stirring. Boil 4 minutes without stirring. Remove pan from heat, and add milk. Mix well. Return pan to heat & cook at medium-low boil for 30 minutes, or until mixture reaches 238 degrees on a candy thermometer. Stir constantly. Remove from heat & stir in vanilla. Pour into a buttered 9" square pan. Cool in pan 2 hours. Cut with a very sharp serrated knife into 1" pieces & wrap each piece in wax paper.
