Fudge Topped Brownies

1 c. butter, melted
2 c. sugar
1 c. unsifted flour
2/3 c. cocoa
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs
1/2 c. milk
3 tsps. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts
12 oz. package semi sweet chocolate chips
14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk

Preheat oven to 350. In large mixer bowl, combine margarine, sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, eggs, milk & 1 1/2 tsps vanilla
beat well. Stir in nuts if desired. Spread in greased 13x9 pan. Bake 40 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan. Just before brownies are done, in heavy saucepan, over low heat, melt chips with sweetened condensed milk & remaining 1 1/2 tsps. vanilla. Remove from heat. Immediately spread over hot brownies. Cool. Chill. Cut into bars. Store at room temperature.
