Drugs from the Sea

The story I heard on NPR this morning sounds like Grims Brothers fairy tale. Drugs float in from the sea and change the social and economic fabric of a tiny fishing community. This new "natural resource" has created monsters, moguls, and even new fund raisers for schools. All of this a tiny byproduct of the gigantic, evil drug trade.

It's not just Central America. Norm lived on the coast of Georgia and said drug trans-shipment is a big problem down there as boats come in and have ready access to I-95.

I figured out a long time ago that you can't take drugs without taking responsibility for the crime and social problems you are causing. Any time you hear of some judge being killed by drug lords in Columbia, it is US drug users that are causing that and preventing Columbia from having the society they would have if we didn't buy drugs from them. And don't think the people of Columbia aren't aware of that too.
