Very spiky! I've been tracking my mileage since I got my car (over a year now) and I usually have great mileage after bad mileage and vice versa. I think this is because the pump will shut off before the tank is really full. I include a column in my spreadsheet for a 3-tank average to smooth things out a little. Your car averages around 26 and mine averages just under 28. Mine is probably more short trips though. I just added days per tank to mine and my average there is 16.7 and that's with only about 320 miles per tank.

The upper right graph is $PG (dollars per gallon). It shows gas prices diving from $4 to under $1.50. Amazing.
I also think it is amazing these charts on this post will keep updating as I update them thanks to Google docs. Makes me want to publish some other stat on my home page.
