Made a 104 on Business Statistics exam last night. Pleased about that. Ate Chick-fil-a for breakfast/lunch this morning. I feel like a dork because me and a couple of kids and my British Business Stat professor have been having a long discussion about Brit Pop music on the professor's class website. He's a funny professor. Paul Holmes. Very British name.
I have to budget my concert-going. I'm not going to see the Strokes at the Tabernacle in November. I'm disappointed but I can't pay for everything. They are one of my favorite bands who have earned a place near the top of my CD shelf. I might not see Spiritualized either. Oh well. But I AM going to see Radiohead and Supergrass in October!
I also have been thinking about my halloween costume. I might be a Bullet with Butterfly Wings and wear a sign made out of crayon that says "The World is a Vampire" (haha).
I heard the Pixies are getting together for a reunion tour. I might be interested in THAT especially if they are playing greatest hits, because I really just want to hear their greatest hits since I think they are their best songs.

(how do I put artwork in as well?)
Billy announced the breakup of Zwan (which actually occurred last May from what I understand) on Monday morning.
p: oh, billy broke up zwan
J: So there will be no more zwan?
p: nope. (but secretly, he is about to record a solo record and play his first "solo" shows in japan in december, and i get to work on the site when it gets going)
p: there is still papa M though, and paz has joined pajo in papa m to record and they are touring in october together.
p: i think jimmy is going to remain with billy
J: Sure was a lot of work to create a band and then dump it.
p: they weren't doing that well and i guess he wasn't happy with it.
p: he said that the band wasn't focused enough, which was a far cry from the pumpkins who were all much more dedicated, surprisingly.
J: B.E.G.T. is still availble.
J: Billy's Electric Guitar Tricks.
Disappointing. Still was neat to see Billy play piano 10 feet away from me and be so close that I could hear his vocals without any kind of mic. I'm glad Zwan existed, but honestly I am just as excited about a potential solo record of BC's because I think that will allow him to sound as much like the Smashing Pumpkins as he wants (which is perfectly fine with me, as long as he keeps writing ballads too!)
Last night I saw B.R.M.C. at the Cotton Club. The first time I saw this band, it was 2 years ago and there were maybe 20 people there to see them, if that. Then I saw them two other times afterwards in the same year and there were still not many people present to see BRMC. But, last night, they played to an almost sold-out crowd of about 800 people I think. Impressive growth. It is exciting to see a band that you like become successful. They are from San Francisco, and I would best classify them in the "Shoegazer" category. Good tracks to download: Spread Your Love, Love Burns, Salvation.
I made a 100 on my Marketing test. Didn't do so well on Management, but I'm sure I'll be able to make that up on the other tests I take in that class. I have a Business Stat test Thursday which I am about to go study for now. I also need to call my mom, sort through my old clothes and sell some of them, clean my room, clean the bathroom, try once again to figure out how to use Kung-Log, and practice my bass guitar.

The end of the weekend has come. I sold my UGA game ticket for $25 and treated myself to a brunch at the Grit this morning and a movie - Dirty Pretty Things with the actress from Amalie. It was okay. Very very sad movie. I would not recommend paying for it. I am excited though, because the Tate Student center is showing The Shining in two weeks at midnight. That's the craziest movie I have ever seen. I have only seen it once though, so hopefully I can make more sense of it the second time around. Jack Nicholson is the perfect character in that role. Ever since I've seen him in other movies, I can't imagine him not being a crazy bad guy! I recently saw The Nightmare Before Christmas at Tate. Their movies are great because I only have to pay $1 to get in. What a deal! Better than renting a movie, even. They also like to show movies that my generation grew up with, like Ninja Turtles and such.
Let's see, I'm also looking for an internship at a record company. Anybody know of any open jobs at record companies?? Bueller? Actually, I might be able to score one in Athens if I look in the right places. Before the summer started there was an ad for an internship with the woman who does PR for Jucifer (on Velocette's label) - who are "street buddies" of mine,if you will (a street buddy is my term for someone in Athens whom I pass by and say hello to, have small talk with, but we don't ever hang out) but I didn't apply because Gwynne said she was going to apply but then she never did. But, it's a dog-eat-dog world, so I think I will apply anyway next time one of my friends tells me that he/she is going to try to get such an opportunity.
The apple.com homepage is set to come up every time I open Internet Explorer. I've been eyeing these new Apple I-pods that hold 40 Gigs of songs. They look pretty neat. I think I'd like to have one that I could hook up to my car stereo, like UT does. My current car stereo is a total piece. It won't play half of the CDs I own which is kind of a bummer because the most time I have to listen to music is in the car.
I also have secret news about the status of Zwan and Billy Corgan which I shouldn't post here until the news comes out. I guess you could say it is semi-sad but semi-exciting at the same time.
Anyway, I just cleaned the downstairs a bit and now I need to study Business Statistics.

I had three tests in two days. One in Finance, one in Marketing, and one in Management. I made a 100 on the finance exam! I do not know how I did on the other two yet though. I'm very sleep-deprived and coming down with some kind of cold that every body else has had in the past two weeks, I guess due to the change in weather.
Monday night I saw and hung out with the Whirlwind Heat (www.whirlwindheat.com). I first saw them open for the White Stripes at Stone Mountain this summer when the festival was so packed that they had to shut down the park. This band is great. They have a bassist, a drummer, and a moog player/singer. They were the first band signed to Jack White's label. Very fun show. At the end, the band moved the entire drum set across the stage while the drummer was still playing and then the singer wrapped everybody on stage in duct tape, drums, bass, people, and all. They were neat, very geeky guys who reminded me of good ol' Beck.
I also heard Outkast's new single, "hey yeah." It is very good! You can watch the video on mtv.com. They have the same crazy clock that we have in our living room in that video! Funny, eh?
