This week is homecoming week... which means spirit week.
Every day is a different themed day that you get to dress up for.

Monday: Cartoon Day
Tuesday: Toga Tuesday
Wednesday: Superhero Day
Thursday: Nerd Day
Friday: Spirit Wear

I typically don't dress up because its too much of a hassle and takes some time when it comes to planning, plus its aimed more at the seniors [[i plan to go ALL out senior year, you can win gift cards for having one of the best costumes and if you win on spirit day you get the part of most spirited in the yearbook]].
So today was "Toga Tuesday", and I was actually pretty excited to have a Roman spirited day, but sadly, it was not so.

Nearly everybody wore their togas WRONG! And I don't know what some of these people were wearing because they were definitely not togas, just white see through dress things with golden accents. Then other people just had it tied up or pinned at the top instead of wrapped properly.

Some people's togas went just to their knees or above.
Others had it draped over their right shoulders.
And then still I saw people wearing YELLOW togas which, for those of you who are up to date on your Roman history, meant you had a very inappropriate occupation.

This mockery, as a result, made me have a pretty bad day. I had to channel my anger in to a hate note to all the toga misusers, which was taken from me and laughed at.
It was almost as bad as when we had to read "Julius Caesar" by Shakespeare last year, I almost cried at the scene where Caesar was stabbed 23 times.
[Shakespeare says 33 >:[ but the scene was pretty heart-breaking]
I had an infatuation with Caesar last year... my "historical crush". ; ]

I asked the people on student government to please not support the toga tuesday idea next year unless they provide pamphlets on the proper wear next year on account some people were offended...

Historical inaccuracies don't go by well with me.
Especially when it comes to Rome.

It was a productive 4 hours of raking leaves and snow.
Less than half of the people who had volunteered to come actually came, so it was pretty tough, but we actually wound up finishing earlier than planned. It was pretty fun... and pretty hard work, I wish it hadn't been so cold though. I was shivering through 5 layers of clothing all of which were long sleeved and one of the layers was under-armor which I wore on my legs as well.

On Friday I checked out of school to leave for an overnight cross-country meet in Charlotte, NC. It was a trip for top 25 and I'm number 26 so I was lucky when one girl was not able to go, therefor allowing me to take her place. I was really nervous because this was a varsity meet and the girls on my team all ran a pace at about 2 minute pace faster than me. When we ran the course the day before the race I was having a bit of a tough time after all the girls had assured me that it was really an easy course. The next day (Saturday) we ran at 12:15 pm. EVERYBODY was expecting to get their personal record, including me, but I expected to get a 22:45 at best. The ground we ran on was extremely dry and gravelly and the weather was over 80 degrees. We went out and I was passing all these really good girls on my team and I was getting afraid that I would not be able to keep it up.

My first mile was a 6:48 pace and the night before coach told me my first mile should be a 7:30. Of course I slowed down but not drastically, actually I kept it in relatively the low 7's (minutes) I wound up getting a <strike>21:38 (that's a guess)</strike> 22:20. Only 3 girls on my team improved on their times and I came in <strike>4th</strike> 12th (for my team) in the open race.

So I will now be in the top 20 (varsity) for this season and I am extremely ecstatic about it! And as for the girl who's place I took, I ran faster than she has and I think I may have just accidentally pushed her out of the top 20...

The 3rd Cashin to get Mr. G, (Latin), and he thought I was the baby upon visiting him. He could not believe he had one more, lets see if Claire can keep it up and try for getting him her freshman year on account of the fact he is retiring when I graduate (2010).

This teacher is hard to understand... or maybe he is so simple to understand it is confusing, oh well. He is brilliant (...or crazy), he speaks like, 7 languages and incorporates them in to all the classes. His major is in Latin and the history he knows practically everything about the language and the culture that there is to know. He had a bunch of acheivments... I can't even remember. The thing is, this guy can get away with ANYthing. He curses, has posters on the wall with these curse words, and does anybody stop him? Nope.

He has a wooden paddle in his classroom (actually he has 2, there is a smaller one). He whacks "nasty little boys" (even when they aren't being nasty) with yard sticks, throws books at them, and throws them out of their desks for things as simple as forgetting their homework. While if a girl does the same thing he simply pretends he doesn't see a thing. In the front of his classroom there is "sleepy chair" and old chair that gets a new cover each year where girls are allowed to sit and sleep during the class with a blanket over them when their boyfriend breaks up with them, or they are upset over some drama with their best friend, or when they just aren't feeling well.

He tells all the students how happy he is to have them in his class everyday calls them "babe", "beautiful men", "cuties" (all these names given to boys). He compliments all the girls. And then after complimenting the boys he manages to pick at all their flaws. Students who don't know a thing about him or have never had him before say, "What a strange man..." He actually blessed one kid in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and told him that he had absolved his sins and unless he brought his homework he would rot in You-Know-Where. (After which one kid said "Why don't you just send him to Azkaban?" Gee just snorted at him like that was the weirdest thing he'd ever heard).

Now after hearing that would you believe this guy is an Irish Catholic?

Even after the countless stories about this man from Nicole and Danny I still have no idea what to expect. We'll see... I can't wait... I guess.

Claire and I have recently picked up making films. They have gone better as we have made more, especially script-wise. We still are working on filling one tape before we convert it to a DVD and then can proceed to editing it on iMovie into several shorts. Some of them are actually pretty good and we can't wait to do more work on them to make them better. Pretty much all the films are of me and Claire with I believe just one appearance of her friend Maddy which is just a film of them goofing off like many of the earlier films. Everything is improvised. Well... for the most part. We have found it most effective to co-direct but usually have one person who mainly mans the camera and makes a few appearances while the other is the star.

I think we may be almost done with our first tape so we should get to editing soon.

Today after school, a few of us planned to go running (Kyoshi, Madison, Mary, Jessie, and me). Unfortunately Madison got sick with strep throat so she was with us only in our minds. We got a late start because I got a solo in this upcoming chorus show, and I had to work with Mrs. Peeples for 10 minutes because she is combining it with another song to make it a semi-medley. Well, that took longer than expected because there were some technical difficulties. So, when I finished, we got some money and ran up to Sonic to get a rootbeer float/strawberry limeade slushie/chicken bites/banana creampie shake (our individual orders).

We stayed there a while and talked while we had our snacks when Kyoshi realized that he needed rubberbands for his braces because he ran out and since his orthodontist wasn't very far away, we went there and got his rubberbands, got free toothpaste, played with Leggos, and conversed with the extremely nice orthodontist and receptionist.

Next, we went to the middle school, Fiveforks, because it wasn't much farther and Jessie had to go to the bathroom. Everybody loved us everywhere we went because we are Brookwood runners! So we got to go into the front office while the middle schoolers were getting out and Jessie went to the bathroom. We talked to the Principal and the Receptionist and they all knew Kyoshi apparently because he was a trouble maker turned good. Then we got lollipops and Jessie and I ran back whil Mary and Kyoshi were tired. Then we waited at the school for 20 minutes while we waited for Mary to get back because we remembered all out stuff was in her locker! : )

So it was a good day for a Monday and I was glad to be running after being a week without it, and let me tell you, I am so out of shape. I got really tired from 4 miles and we usually do 5-6. I had to stop so many times. Still, a good day for running.

I am now one of four people. We are Angie, the Taqwandas. I am Foqweesha. There is also Poqweesha (Jessie), Laqwanda (Madison), and Mary... that is her real name. We have to find her another name. Anyways, we all think and SAY the same things, it is pretty cool. We also were all born in August 1992, but on different days, but in the middle of the days is August 21st, so that is Angie Taqwanda's birthday. And I have known all of them since at least the 4th grade (one of them since I was BORN! We reunited this year).

Actually, we discovered this on accident because we were all separately the sam as Jessie, making us ALL the same, and we all have a lot in common, and even if in one category it is not all 4 of us, at least two of us are the same. It is very complex... I guess Angie is a complex being.

Oh, and we didn't choose the name Angie, because one day we played ultimate frisbee and we introduced ourselves to everyone, but they didn't introduce themselves back, and they wouldn't pass the Frisbee to us (even though I made 2 AMAZING catches that scored 2 POINTS each because I'm a girl), so we ran around giving everybody names. Then, one guy said that we would have one nickname because we were basically the same person (we didn't even say ANYTHING about the "WE") and named us Angie.

So basically, that is it, and we all are going to get our wenises pierced and get wenis leashes when we are 18.

Why didn't anybody ever tell me I was such a weird kid? I found an old journal of mine and some of the stories I wrote were really strange. I had no life...

Mommo & Jojo -- unrevised

Momo and Jojo were the happy hairdressers. They were married to eachother and had a small shop. About 2 or 3 people a day came to MJ Cuts. Their last name was Chocho.

5 years later Momo and Jojo discovere[d] business was low... low (lol). So they decided to have a kid. It was twins! Toto and Bobo. Momo and Jojo got extra sticky tape and taped the new babies to the wall for decoration. They looked great hanging up their on the wall! "Surely these babies will make people come to the shop!" said Momo. Then, Jojo hadan idea, they could have more kids! Momo could feed the babies and Jojo would put clothes on them after she had them.

Eventually (20 years later) they were satisfied with 40 kids. All of them hanging on the wall. Of course this attracted a whole bunch of people. They did not want their hair done though. Momo and Jojo had to start selling food. Then people kept coming in. All their kids in order were: Toto, Bobo, Frofro, Yoyo, Shosho, Dodo, Roro, Coco, Nono, Koko, Jojo jr., Momo jr., Zozo, Lolo, Quoquo, Ohoh, Hoho, Gogo, Xoxo, Popo, Vovo, Trotro, Fadofado, Ladolado, Yadoyado, Noshonosho, Hopohopo, Mojomojo, Jomojomo, Drodro, Dotrodotro, Vrovro, BjoBjo, HroHro, SkloSklo, PofroPofro, Fofo, ChoCho, and Emily. One day, the babies got sooooo bbig they fell down off the wall and went to college. Jojo couldn't have anymore babies, but they were millionaires by that time. Still, they wanted more money, so every year they go and get Chinese babies and tape them on the wall, now they're the richest people on Earth.

Floppy Joe

Once there was a clown named Floppy Joe. He had really bad teeth so he never smiled. That is how he got the name "Frowny Face". Everyone hated Frown Face because he made babies and little kids cry. Also he made ladies cry because he tried to kiss them because he but he smelled like circus onions and who would want to kiss a guy who made kids cry, had bad teeth, and smelled like circus onions. All the man beat up Frown Face because he kissed their women and made their kids cry (contributing to his oral hygiene problem). The circus fired Frowny Face so we will call him Floppy Joe now. Floppy decided to become a constructor who worked in the sewers and became best friends with a sewer rat named Kickloratchee.

There are also more stories like this in my journal, insane doodles, a recipe for mist, and spelling words. I was a strange kid... Who knows what I was thinking.

It is a little strange seeing all my class mates get jobs. It seems like everyone it working at Chik-fil-A or Kroger. People have tried to get into working at Brusters, but it hasn't worked out for anybody so far. Even though I am still "underage" I have managed to snag myself a most excellent baby sitting job for a 3rd grader, Katie. It pays well and I get to play Barbies and Toon Town with her the entire time. She loves having me baby sit because she's an only child and when I baby sit that means Claire gets to come up too, and she likes that I play with her rather than watching TV or doing my own thing the entire time. Even though track gets in the way of me having a regular baby sitting job with them, I still can work every now and then on the weekends. Last weekend I made $67 because I baby sat for them, at night and they came back an hour later than they planned, and then, Katie asked them to leave the next day so I could babysit. For the most part I have a fun time, but lately, people have been asking me what I'm going to do with all this extra money... Well, it is not exactly enough to help pay towards college, so I think that I am going to pay $100 to my dad to get a cell phone plan for one year because I have been noticing more and more that I need/want one. So, I am pretty much enjoying my new "job" I have, it is good to have that little extra money, even if it isn't a regular amount!

The name of my blog is a little confusing, but that is the name "Xelly" is supposed to be like "Kelly" only it begins with an X for "cross". Chronicle begins with a C standing for Country. XC= cross country. A little weird, but it is a temporary name until I find a better one.

Also "Will milk be provided?" is from The Breakfast Club. It is a frequently used quote at my school. Nobody is really quite sure how it got started, but I think I know if ya'll want to hear it, it's an interesting story.
