100 Most Frequently Banned Books

Its banned books week for the American Library Association, and the website has released a list of the top 100 most challenged books. I was suprised to see some of my favorite books are on there, like The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (#5), The Harry Potter series (#7), The Giver (#14), The Goosebumps Series (#16), To Kill a Mockingbird (#41), and The Pigman (#44). Look at the full list here

The Complete Calvin and Hobbes

calvinandhobbes.jpgAndrews McMeel Publishing has announced that they will be releasing The Complete Calvin and Hobbes, a collection of all the calvin and Hobbes strips ever made. Calvin and Hobbes is my favorite comic strip besides Farside. Ironicly, both of these were no longer in print by the time I began reading comic strips. If I didn't already own about half of the Calvin and Hobbes collections, this would be something I would definitely want. Calvin and Hobbes was created in 1985 by Bill Waterson, who remains reclusive to this day. Waterson, along with the strip retired in 1996. You can read a full description of the cartoon by wikipedia here. calvball.gif

Lakeland High Football

I probably should have posted about this long ago, Lakeland High (my school) was selected as the #1 high school football team in the country by USA Today before the season. Well it is before the season, there's really no way to tell. Well, USA Today still ranks Lakeland as number one, we are currently 4,0 (5,0 if you include the preseason).

G-Mail

2A2_logo.jpg
My friend Julie invited me into Gmail a couple of months ago and I finally signed up. In case you didn't know, Gmail is google's beta email service that offers over 2.5 gigs of free space. The only way to get it is to be invited by a current Gmail account holder. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep my old email adress or discard it entirely, but my new address is eric...@gmail.com.

Random Tees

random copy.jpg
I was over at my friend Terry's house a couple of weeks ago when I saw an add for randomshirts.com in a magazine. There were some funny ones in the ad, and I thought I'd check it out. The site is filled with funny, and quite random tee shirts. Plus, they're only $10 each (plus tax). I purchased "We Grow 'Em Big in Deleware," "Fight the Good Fight," and "Born to Dreidel." Next, I plan to get "I Love Copters," "Save the Tuna," or maybe "Denmark knows Bar-B-Q."
Check out all the shirts, just looking at them is funny.

ductPod v2.0

I have created another ductape iPod case to replace my old iSkin Evo 2. It is more advanced than the original ductPod. It features a velcro strap to hold in the ipod and a belt clip on the back. The clip isn't really a clip, just a ring that I can put my belt through. The only disadvantage is that there is no click wheel access, and I can't see the screen, but I don't really need to. In "case" (haha, bad pun) you were wondering, its double sided and the ductape dosen't scratch the iPod's delicate exterior. Another advantage is that the ductape slides well against clothing, unlike the iskin, which was almost impossible to pull in and out of pockets. Here are some pics:

Harry Potter Wallpapers

I have recently been visting mugglenet.com quite frequently. Mugglenet is a large Harry Potter fansite complete with its own podcast. The podcast climbed its way to #1 on itunes podcast list. Anyway, since I've been attempting to hone in my photoshop skills, I made a couple of wallpapers and submited them to the site. The Vodemort one was made from a brief shot of him in the new Goblet of Fire Trailer. The trailer is great, I suggest you watch it.
