I was channel surfing this morning and came upon the food channel. "Southern Cooking" with Paula something or another was on. It was the beginning of the show and the narrorator was describing a fort in which she was going to cook. It was none other than Fort Jackson, in Savannah. I had visited and eaten in that Fort less than two weeks ago during a workcamp I had attended in Hilton Head. The fort had first been used by the confederates in the civil war. They evacuated when union troops began to close in. The union then took control of it. There where three large cannons (two fake) and a small one. There where guys who walked around in uniforms with real working guns. They fired a rifle, and then a small cannon. They where both pretty loud.

I guess those guys were so loud because they had lost some hearing shooting those guns off.

That's exactly what I said! Eric said those guys would have been dead a long time ago.
Too bad Eric didn't get to go on our family vacations when we visited every fort in the south!

Eric, did you know Fort Pulaski (where we found the cache) is down river from Fort Jackson? To UT and Sista- rock music is much more damaging to ear drums than rifle and cannon noise

Grandaddy and I attended a fun luncheon at that Fort a few years ago. Andrew Keller (Elizabeth's brother) married a girl from Savannah and we went down to the wedding. They had a clam bake inside the fort. It was a whole bunch of people and a lot of fun. Those guys were walking around in uniforms that day, too.

Eric: If you put the photograph html up front (before "I was channel..." then it should allow the photograph to better fit in the paragraph. I often find myself moving photo code earlier than where I first paste it, especially if I'm using the align="right" or align="left" tag to get word wrapping.
