I was wondering what case i would buy when I had an ingenoius idea, why not make my own? First i considered what I would use. Ductape was the obvious answer, but would that scratch the ipod? I again had a revalation, and quickly armed myself with an old sock. I cut up the sock in the size of the ipod, and grabbed some of my ductape. Mom helped me make some cuts in the ductape shell attached to the sock. I added a top and bottom (with holes for the firewire and headphones) and viola! I had a pretty cool ductape case. I took some pictures, sorry, they are kinda blurry
looking on ipodlounge.com, i found out that the dock and remote used to be included in the ipod package. That kind of dissapointed me because im probably going to end up buying the dock sepratly.

That's a great case! Wrapping the ipod in the sock first to give it a soft lining was a great idea. I'm glad to hear you visited ipodlounge, too.
The remote and dock came with my iPod, but I don't think they are very useful and wouldn't recommend buying them. For what they charge for the dock, you could get a really nice case (not that your U2 edition duct tape case isn't nice) or even a true remote control that allows you to control your iPod from across the room. Of course you would need really long headphones then.

Nice case. Looks like the U2 Edition! I wrote this article to give you tips on posting photos. Gramalie wanted some tips, too. Also, see if your digital camera has a "flower" or "close up" mode. Should help avoid fuzzy photos.

If you're worried about dropping it or having it get damaged in a book bag, then iPod armor is probably pretty good. But if you're just worried about scratches and still want to be able to see the screen and use the wheel, then I like the case I've got, which is called a PodSleevz and is made by www.radtech.us but there are some pretty cool latex ones that have a clear screen cover and don't cover the wheel that would work too.
